How do casinos link the progressive jackpots on slot machines together?

Have you ever played a slot machine like say wheel of fortune for example and you notice the digital displayed progressive at the top that is rising. My question is if many casinos combine into this jackpot how is it linked? Via internet? Any casino insiders out there?

   It depends, If it is a big casino, it is the jackpot for just that casino. If it’s not a big casino, it is transferring data to the internet and being pooled with other small casinos.

   all the casinos of each particular group are linked together by a network. so, it is quite clear that the jackpot amount is counted and growing automatically. you may read more about progressive slots here
