5 cents.. the dollar 1s are a waste
all are giving a house advantage except poker…the law states poker odds are the same as an actual deck of cards..
None it is all the same random generator. You just win more on the one dollar ones that is why it seems to be better.
Statistical House Keep for Slots (this is what they keep for every 100 dollars played)
Nickels 8.67%
Quarters 4.72%
Dollars 4.41%
Mega Bucks 10.72%
Clearly dollars they keep the least. When you see the signs that say 98.75% payback. Only one machine has to give those odds, and they dont tell you which one.
Ive done loans for Casinos. If you want to know what the average keep is on any other game let me know. I know them all.
*update*
Sandman is right the odds have to be the same, thats why you dont play the house in poker. They just take the rake. The only time you play the house is poker is Pai-Gow Poker & carribean stud.
Statistical hold for house.
Pai-Gow Poker 20.38%
Caribbean Stud 23.79%
Blackjack is your best odds at 13.14%
And no they are not random the only thing random about the slot machines is the random person that walks up and gets paid.
*update*…. ROFL how the hell can I get a thumbs down? Send me an email and I will scan the odds that came from the casino. I know what they make, they have to tell me to get a loan. If you guys walk in and think its random, you are stupid and didnt notice how big the buildings are. They know exactly what they are going to make.
All casino slot machines are run by computers that are located in a highly secure back room of the casino. (some are even a few stories underground) I use to work behind the scene in a few casinos and let me say this. Programmers can set the payout rate and percentage and also pick what machines will pay out next. But they tend to only set the payout percentage and leave it to what machine will pay out next as random. Casinos want the most play out of the widest variety of machines and thus floor space. If they start picking what machines pay out more it tends to clog up traffic and more players will tend to wait for certain machies that they believe have a higher payout rate. If random machines are hitting throughout the casino it tends to spread out the players and thus brings in more money for the house.
The programmers I use to speak with would not set the payout rates different depending on the money value of that machine. The casino wants a penny slot player to win occasionally just like it wants a dollar player to win. (occasionally-not too much)
As far as what type of machine to play - stick with video poker and buy a book and learn the correct strategy. This is the only slot machine/video machine that you could actually have an edge over the house with correct play.
Legally, casinos are required to have a higher minimum payout at higher value slot machine than lower value slot machines. If you buy Casino Player magazine, they have a list of payout percents of different value slot machines at various casinos, and it clearly shows a significantly higher payout at higher value machines.
Now, does this mean you will lose less at higher value machines? Absolutely not. At higher value machines, you are exposing a significantly higher amount of money to the house edge, and thus will most likely lose faster at higher value machines. Plus, most people stick a $5 or $10 bill in the penny machines and play until it’s gone, but they’ll put a $50 or $100 bill in a dollar machine, so they usually lose more at each machine. The only exception would be if you play say the Millioniser or similar slot machine with max coin bet where you play 300 pennies vs a dollar slot that has a 3 coin maximum. In that case, you would most likely lose less at the dollar machine.
Anyway, correctly played video poker is much better than slot machines. The best bet in the casino is the pass line with odds, NOT the blackjack table.
